Prompt Engineering is the practice of describing what you want to Generative AI models like ChatGPT or Midjourney and to get the results you're looking for. Although language models seem intuitive and sometimes magically good, they can also widely miss the mark if you don't phrase your requests properly.
At the core, Large Language Models operate by attempting to predict the correct next word based on their input. On top of this base layer, OpenAI has added a Reinforcement Learning layer based on Human Feedback. This is what makes the base layer appear more like an assistant with a question/answer style.
